NAMI has many different groups and general meetings that anyone can attend:

  • General Meetings - This is a meeting open to the public that offers programs of interest such as new research, how to navigate the mental health system in Illinois etc. The meetings are held at various locations.

Family-to-Family is a 12-week support class that will help you cope with the family member who has a mental illness.  It is conducted at various times through out the year.

Please make a reservation by calling (630) 896-6264, the NAMI-Kane County South office. There is no fee for these classes. Click here for Family to Family information.

  • Support Meetings - Solutions to common problems are explored at "caring and sharing" meetings; members share experiences and develop skills to use when coping with the "ups-and-downs" of mental illness.

  • Specialty Meetings - These focus on areas of need such as housing, insurance parity, etc.  For more information about participation in one of these meeting call the NAMI office in Aurora (630) 896-6264.
